INROADS
Brokerage Respite
Holiday Program

Community Connection
As the name suggests, this program is designed to engage people with a disability into community activities with 1:1 support and to also offer programs to people with a disability.
Currently there are 5 programs being delivered through this program.  All the programs offered by UGSFSA are overseen by 2-3 Support Assistants.

This program runs every Monday departing from the Leisure Center car park at 8am. Adventure's club is all about getting people with limitations out and about to experience some activities that they wouldn't normally think were possible. Adventurers Club travels from Narrogin to Perth, Albany, Bunbury and anywhere in between.

Adventurers Club experiences all kinds of different things, some of the activities the Club explore are Archery, Ten pin bowling, Horse Riding, Carriage Driving and Abseiling just to name a few.

Accessability's Adventurers Club is a great way to meet new people and experience different things that life has to offer people with limitations.

If you would like to know more, please call into the office or give us a ring. There will be someone who is more than happy to answer all your questions.

INROADS
The Inroads program stands for Inclusive Networks for Recreation and Other Activities for People with Disabilities.  The concept of INROADS was initially introduced in April 1995 as a program which would respond to the need for increased opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in recreation and leisure activities and to integrate more fully into their local communities.

UGSFSA is currently offering two programs through this funding option.  1 in Narrogin and 1 in Katanning.

These programs are overseen by 2 Support Assistants.  If an individual requires 1:1 support to attend any of the programs, this can be arranged by contacting the Program Coordinator at accessability.

Brokerage Respite
Family support provides supports to carers in their caring role and allows them to have a break from this role.  It is provided through a wide range of activities/services/supports offered to, and engaged in by, people with disabilities and their families.  Respite should also provide a positive experience for the person with a disability.  Supports may be formal or informal, and may be provided in the home or out of the home.  At the same time it offers people with disabilities the opportunity to engage in activities of their choice and get out and about in the community.  The source of primary care remains with the family.

Brokerage Respite is funded through an application process each financial year.  Once the application has been approved, funds are forwarded to the family on a quarterly basis which must be acquitted.  To apply for this service fill in the attached form and return to the office of UGSFSA.  You may wish to seek assistance from your Local Area Coordinator from Disability Services Commission.

Holiday Program
The holiday program is a highlight for many of the individuals supported by UGSFSA as many of the normal activities attended are closed for the month of January.  This program is held each year for two days a week 5 hours each day and is coordinated by 2 Support Assistants.  There is also the option of providing 1:1 support to allow participation by all people.

Many activities are offered through this program including swimming, sporting games, life-long learning skills such as cooking, art & craft and social participation.

The cost to attend this program is $12.00 which includes morning tea, lunch and all craft activities and entrance to sporting activities.  To access this program, contact the Program Coordinator at UGSFSA in the month of November.  Details will then be forwarded to you for the program.
